Lansing Jaycees

The East Lansing Art Festival is right around the corner and we need volunteers to help face paint in the Children's Area.

You don't have to be a world class artist to help out with this event, as just have a bit of paint on their faces makes children attending the festival happy.

If you can help out for a few hours on either Saturday, May 18 or Sunday, May 19, please contact Community Development Vice President Ruthi Dake at: ruthilovesyou87@gmail.com.

We'll gladly take non-members as volunteers too, so if you have a friend/family member who would enjoy the event, feel free to put them in touch with Ruthi, or pass along their name and contact information to her.

Love beer? Want to help out the Lansing and Frankenmuth Jaycees? Then sign up to help out at the 2013 World Expo of Beer on May 18.

We are currently at nine volunteers, meaning the Chapter will receive $200. If we get one more volunteer, we'll more than double our money and receive $500 for our volunteering.

Want to have input on what kind of haunted event the Lansing Jaycees run in 2013? Then you should come out to the "haunted event committee meeting" on May 22 to help brainstorm about possible ways for the Jaycees to celebrate the Halloween season.

Possible ways to celebrate the Halloween season are:
-Finding a permanent haunted house location
-Researching "ghosts of Lansing" for a walking tour
-Using our Halloween decorations for a family friendly "Fall Fun Fest"

The meeting is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Avenue Cafe, 2021 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, formerly known as Gone Wired.

If you are interested in helping out, but can't make the meeting, contact committee chair Joe Kelly (joewkelly@gmail.com) with information about how you would like to help/be involved.

The next Jaycee Road Rally is all about the F-word: Food, Fun, Fear, and Foto.

Get your team of up to four people ready for an adventure filled day on Saturday, Aug. 17.
