UN Millennium Development Goals cmte.

In September of 2000 the United Nations developed a series of millennium development goals (MDGs) to create a better quality of life for everyone. Dan Harris, Management Vice President, learned about this at the last US Jaycees Leadership Academy and wanted to utilize some of these goals locally in future projects. Then hopefully share the results with the US Jaycees, JCI, and the United Nations (and any of its commissions that benefited). Here is our opportunity to meet-up and discuss the eight MDGs, develop a set of guidelines for measuring and determining the impact project contribute towards a MDG, and brainstorm project ideas.

This is an opportunity to volunteer as a group with the Jaycees on Friday, June 22, for their 5:30-8:15pm shift. Since the festival keeps going for a few more hours afterward, you can then stick around and enjoy it at a discounted rate. The festivals are one of the Old Town Commercial Association's biggest fundraising events for the year. As a volunteer you'll receive a t-shirt and discounted prices on tickets. Please RSVP to this e-mail and sign-up on the festival's volunteer spot site: http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/902345633820580054

Who are the Lansing Jaycees?

The Lansing Jaycees are working on a redesign of our website. To accompany these changes, Management Vice President Dan Harris is working on developing a video for our new website.

Anyone interested in helping plan and develop this video can come to the planning meeting tonight, Thursday May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Gone Wired Cafe, 2021 E. Michigan Ave.

You can check out the teaser video here: http://vimeo.com/41995610.

Eat Olga's, help the Chapter!

For one day, (Saturday, June 2) Olgas will be donating to the Lansing Jaycees. Bring in this coupon (you have to bring it in) and a portion of your bill will come to the chapter.

Olga's is a Michigan-based company, so this is a great way to benefit the chapter while supporting a Michigan business. Plus, snackers!

The amount donated increases as our total does, so come hungry!
