Basic Pasta Making

We will be learning how to make traditional pasta noodles. Using both, the hand cranked and electric pasta making machines. Noodle styles will include both spaghetti and angle hair and depending on time a few more options.

New Member Orientation

New Member Orientation (NMO) is a way to learn more about the Jaycees in general and the Lansing Chapter in particular. This NMO will also present a special presentation about Passport to Leadership (P2L). Come out and learn about the Jaycees, P2L and get your very own P2L punch card!!!

Tour the facility of WLNS, channel 6 news, with morning anchor and Lansing Jaycee Brittany Gray as they prepare for the evening news. Then sit in on a live broadcast of the 5 o'clock evening edition with Jane Aldrich. At 5:30 p.m. we'll have a a wrap-up Q&A session with Brittany! Capacity limited to first 20 people.

St. Patty's Pub Crawl!!

St. Patty's is on a Saturday this year! Let's all get together for a pub crawl and wear our green shirts, wigs, hate and socks down Michigan Street to celebrate! Tin Can will be the first stop at 2:00 PM, Nuthouse at 3:00, Moriarty's at 4:00, Stobber's at 5:00, 621 at 6:00 and finish the pub crawl off at Rum Runner's! Rum Runner's will have personal pan pizza's available on the menu and there will be raffle prizes for everyone at each stop! Hope to everyone out! Invite anyone you'd like to join and please dress green and as creatively Irish as you can! We hope for a big group...contact Amy Simon or Danielle Wellington for details!

Pet Photos w/Easter Bunny - committee meeting

Last year's award for "cutest event" easily went to the "Pet Photos with the Easter Bunny". Join us at Preuss Pets (1127 North Cedar Street, Lansing) to help plan it again and make it even better this year! Donations will be raised for the Animal Placement Bureau (APB). Co-chairs are: Jill Blust, Lauren Leeds, and Jordan VanAken (APB).

March Magic Hoopfest - help set-up

Help set-up for the MSU March Magic Hoopfest, which is an interactive basketball playground for children of all ages, held in conjunction with the MHSAA Boys Basketball Semi Finals and Finals on March 22–24. Monster Mayhem - Haunted House core committee meeting

Core committee meeting for the Monster Mayhem haunted house meeting for 2012! The purpose of this meeting is to finalize the leadership team and start to plan. Everyone is welcome. My enthusiasm for the haunted house has been clear. I do love it. I love haunted houses in general, but more than that I love the feeling of a group of people coming together and doing something great. Monster Mayhem can't be a one-man show. Join me to be a part of something great!

The Lansing Jaycees are hosting the 2nd annual "Pet Photos with the Easter Bunny" fundraiser on Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25, at Preuss Pets (1127 North Cedar Street, Lansing, MI 48906). Specific times are TBD. For a $5 donation, patrons can have their pet's photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Proceeds from the event will go to the Animal Placement Bureau. We'll need volunteers for the event, but also would love to have support from the chapter in bringing your pets and spreading the word!

General Membership Meeting

Our General Membership meetings occur the first Tuesday of each month (except July) at Trippers in Frandor starting at 7 PM with a social hour starting at 6 PM. The meeting is open to all members and anyone interested in learning about the Lansing Jaycees. I hope to see you there!

Please indicate in your response, what you would be interested in helping with from the following options: Setup/Tear Down, Mascot Escorts, Crafts, Games, Handing Out Flyers, Raffle, Volunteer Coordination, or "Does Not Matter". Volunteers are requested at 8:00AM. The public start time is 10:00AM, with the actual hunt promptly at 11:00AM.

Lansing Jaycees Juice for the week of 3/6/2012 Lansing Jaycees
Making Pasta! Have you always wanted to learn how to make pasta? Then you won't want to miss the Lansing Jaycees event "Basic Pasta Making" on Sunday, March 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Chair of the Board Angela Fossi will teach us how to make traditional pasta noodles using both hand cranked and electric pasta machines. Noodle styles will include both spaghetti and angel hair, and depending on time, possibly a few more options. This event is sure to be educational, fun and carb-loaded, so don't miss out! Behind the scenes at WLNS The Lansing Jaycees have an opportunity to tour WLNS, channel 6 news, with morning anchor and Lansing Jaycee Brittany Gray as they prepare for the evening news on Friday, March 16. Addittionally, those attending will be able to sit in on a live broadcast of the 5 o'clock evening edition with Jane Aldrich. At 5:30 p.m. we'll have a a wrap-up Q&A session with Brittany. Capacity for this event is limited to the first 20 people who sign up, so please RSVP! Parking/arrival information is available in the evite, pelase check the calendar to the right. Just B Yoga is a fantastic local donation-based yoga studio that encourages individuals from all backgrounds to find what they need and to leave what they don’t on their mat. Those planning on attending do not need to bring anything -- boxed water can be purchased at the studio if you forget to bring some, and there are towels and mats and straps, etc. available for use at the studio. Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day Everyone has a different favorite holiday. St. Patrick's Day happens to be Membership Vice President Danielle Wellington's favorite, which is why this year the Lansing Jaycees will celebrate the day with a pub crawl on Saturday, March 17. Pub crawl goers are sure to be decked out in green (think shirts, wigs, hats and socks) and drink a green beer or two. There will be raffle prizes at each stop!
